Nicole Foy
Ancil Payne Fellow, ProPublica, and Founder of Voces Internship of Idaho
Nicole Foy is an Ancil Payne Fellow at ProPublica and a former investigative reporter at the Idaho Statesman. She spent four years reporting on Latinos in Idaho and co-created The Latino Card, the first podcast on Latino issues in Idaho. She grew up in California's Central Valley and graduated from Biola University.

Ximena Bustillo

Ximena is a politics and policy reporter based in Washington, D.C. and a former breaking news reporter from the Idaho Statesman and production specialist at KIVI Idaho News 6. A 2020 graduate from Boise State University, and raised Idahoan, Ximena got her start in journalism at The Arbiter.

Melissa Davlin is vice president of the Idaho Press Club and lead producer and host of Idaho Reports on Idaho Public Television. She serves as the Idaho Press Club liaison for the Voces Internship program.

Reporter, Idaho Capital Sun - Alumni Representative, and Voces Internship of Idaho Secretary
Mia was the Voces Internship of Idaho's first full-time working intern. She is from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and graduated from the College of Idaho in May 2022 with degrees in Spanish and International Political Economy. Her internship helped her land a job at the Idaho Statesman as a breaking news reporter. In March, Mia returned to the Idaho Capital Sun to cover statewide politics.

Actively involved in the community doing engineering outreach to local high-schools and colleges. Over the last couple of years he has been a presenter at the MESA conference at WSU and CBC as well as volunteer to do mock interviews at the local high schools.

Gustavo Sagrero has spent his early years as part of many community projects, before leaving his hometown to work in fine dining abroad. An avid collector of takeout menus and restaurant shirts, you'll likely find him searching for the perfect bowl of menudo-or in the middle of a street with a phone camera in hand. If you see him, be kind enough to warn him if there's a car coming his way.

Rebecca Deleón
Co-Host of The Latino Card
Rebecca De León got her bachelor's degree in journalism from Boise State University, where she was editor-in-chief of The Arbiter her senior year. She worked in journalism around Idaho before transitioning to nonprofit advocacy work, but still co-hosts the news commentary radio show The Latino Card on Radio Boise.

Program Director, 103.5 KISS FM
Born and raised in Nampa, Idaho, Mateo is the Program Director of 103.5 KISS FM. After studying Public Relations at Gonzaga University, he returned to Boise to continue his career in radio. Mateo has also been on the air, consulted, and launched radio stations in Spokane, Washington and Salt Lake City, Utah. He sits on multiple advisory boards across the Treasure Valley–and has hosted two Voces interns at KISS FM!

Yanira Corvera's passion for radio began at the age of 16 in Tlaltenango, Mexico. She is currently the host of Expression Latina, a show on Radio Boise.

Antonio Hernandez

Antonio connects funders and doers to advance democracy and civic engagement. He was named "Humanitarian of the Year" by the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs in 2022. Antonio chaired the Contamos census committee in 2020, aiming for an accurate count of Idaho's Latinx communities, and has co-hosted and produced the Radio Boise program “The Latino Card.”

She currently serves as the faculty editorial advisor for The Arbiter at Boise State University.

Brenda Rodriguez is a Bilingual News Reporter and Weekend Anchor/Producer at KTVB Channel 7 in Boise. She is from Rupert Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.A. degree in Broadcasting, Digital Media, and Spanish. Before making it back to the Gem State, she interned at Latino USA in New York City and kicked off her career in television in Eureka, California.

I joined Boise State Public Radio and the Mountain West News Bureau (MWNB) in April 2023 after about a decade working as a print and radio reporter on both sides of the Arizona-Sonora border. Most recently I was based in the Sonoran capital Hermosillo working for the Phoenix NPR affiliate KJZZ. At the MWNB, I’ve tried to leverage my past experience as a wildland firefighter to provide listeners with informed coverage of a number of key issues in wildland fire. I’m especially interested in efforts to improve the famously challenging and dangerous working conditions on the fireline.
